This ground up expansion consisted of a new 7,200 square foot, 11-bed Intensive Care Unit; a 24,800 square foot emergency department and outpatient radiology addition including 23 ER treatment beds, MRI, radiographic room, ultrasound, mammography, centralized outpatient registration, and entry canopy; and 47,000 square feet of exterior site improvements including parking lot, new entry areas, ambulance bay and landscaping. The scope required major coordination and involved wrapping new structures around the existing operating hospital requiring temporary rerouting of access for patients, visitors, and ambulance traffic and installation of hydronic and medical gas piping and sleepers on existing roof structures over functioning surgical and patient care areas.
